Due to Covid-19, we're currently having to adapt our services to make sure everybody is kept as safe as possible.
As such, consultations are being offered online over Zoom where preferred or when shielding, as well as in person with precautions taken.
Ideally, consults will be held outside in the garden, however due to that being heavily reliant on the weather and not ideal in winter when it's cold - when rained off/too cold and where agreed, consults can take place indoors but where possible, they will be done outside. When indoors here in Conisbrough they will be held in the Conservatory which is easy to mop, wipe down and to ventilate. If I attend your home, please ensure the room is well ventilated as per the government guidance.
I request that masks are worn inside if you choose to have a consult here in Conisbrough, unless of course you are exempt.
We will remain at a distance of 2m plus unless I need to come closer briefly for safety (e.g. back carrying). If I have to move closer I will sanitise my hands and wear a mask.
We will have two separate bags of slings so that you do not need to use the same one I have demonstrated with. All slings are quarantined and washed between clients.
Consults are still being offered under Tier 3 restrictions; this is subject to change at short notice when we must adapt to the latest government advice.
We have an online booking system here.
These sessions are for 30 or 60 minutes which mimic the Mini and Extended consult options usually held here in Conisbrough. For those who are local enough, after the online consultation, their chosen sling can be collected from Conisbrough or posted out at cost; there is an option for this when booking.
WHAT IS A FULL CONSULTATION?
A full consultation is 90 minutes to 120 minutes and is for a maximum of two people here in Conisbrough or at your home/garden. Joint consults with a friend/other family member not within your household are not permitted at this time.
Choose to come to me in Conisbrough or stay in the comfort of your own home/garden, no rushing around to try and be on time for a set appointment and I'll bring a carefully chosen selection of slings for you to try.
If you are new to carrying or are new to a particular type of sling and feel you need more in depth advice then a Full Consultation can be an excellent way to get the information you need and gain confidence.
We can also look at more complex needs and situations as well as more technically advanced scenarios such as back carrying with a woven wrap.
During the week inc. a week free hire - £35.00 (here) - £40.00 (your home)
During an evening/at a weekend inc. a week free hire - £40.00 (here) - £45.00 (your home)
Sometimes you don't need the full two hours mentioned above but you are perhaps new to slings and require reassurance, would like to learn to feed in a sling or have multiples. This session is only at Noah's Arc HQ in Conisbrough (DN12). Extended consultations are held during the week at £25.00.
If you have a good idea in mind about what you're after or just need troubleshooting rather than a full or extended consultation we offer these at £15.00 during the week and £20.00 at weekends for 30 minutes. I would not recommend this session for multiples. This session is only at Noah's Arc HQ in Conisbrough (DN12). Please be aware that we are limited to what we can squeeze into a 30 minute appointment.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Abby and all of the volunteers at the sling library are incredible, they are extremely knowledgeable about all the sling options and will be patient with you when reviewing your options to suit you and your baby’s needs.
I had a bump to baby consult with Abby which was so useful as there are so many slings to choose from and she made sure we weren’t overwhelmed.
Library sessions are relaxed and informal and a lovely place to have a cuppa if they’re busy while you wait to be seen.
I really can't recommend Abby and The sling library highly enough. As a complete novice to slings, with a back condition that seems to cause Doctors issues, Abby has successfully taught me about carrying my little one safely and so as not to cause me pain. From borrowing buckles, to attending woven wrap workshops and finally a one to one session. I am so grateful that you were recommended to me. I love carrying my little one, and best of all, she loves it too. Even Daddy uses the buckles now.
I was really nervous about going to a sling library but I was made to feel welcome and comfortable.
The advice that Abby had was amazing and her experiences was really helpful she was always there and help my sling journey, and my bond with my boy grew and grew and I was able to share my love for my little girl also.
when I made the decision to give the sling back as my boy wanted to walk more I had mixed emotions but was still made to feel great about myself and that I could talk to Abby at any point.
I will be forever grateful for this great service and will pass my experience about the library to anyone that will listen.
thanks again xxx
